Senior Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin Transition)

We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer with strong foundations in object-oriented programming (e.g., C#, Python or similar…) who is motivated to transition to Java/Kotlin and contribute to the design and development of scalable and robust solutions that move our products forward.

Your Role:

• Design, develop, and deploy new software components from the ground up.
• Analyze technical and business problems and propose optimal solutions.
• Contribute to the system architecture and technical design.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following SOLID principles.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers in an agile environment.
• Gradually adopt and grow your skills in Java/Kotlin with support from the team.

Within first months, you will…  Onboarding & Learning

• Get familiar with Innovatrics products, architecture, and tools.
• Collaborate with your mentor and the team to understand our development standards and delivery pipeline.
• Begin transitioning to Java/Kotlin (if not already experienced).
• Contribute to small features and bug fixes to get hands-on with our tech stack.

Within six months, you will… Independent Development

• Take full ownership of new features from design to production.
• Participate in system design discussions and architecture improvements.
• Work with other teams to deliver complex end-to-end functionality.
• Drive quality through code reviews and testing best practices.

Within one year, you will…Leadership & Impact

• Lead development initiatives or become a go-to expert in a key domain area.
• Influence architecture and technical direction for strategic projects.
• Mentor junior developers and help shape development practices.
• Propose optimizations and innovations that improve our products or engineering culture.

Candidate requirements

About You:

• Has 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Has a deep understanding of object-oriented design and SOLID principles—and knows when to follow them strictly or adapt pragmatically.
• Has hands-on experience designing and developing systems from scratch.
• Is fluent in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., C#, Python or similar…) and open to mastering Java/Kotlin.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Considers multiple solution paths and makes thoughtful, well-informed technical decisions.
• Understands the long-term impact of architectural and coding choices on maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Thinks in systems and seeks the most effective and elegant way to solve problems—not just the fastest or simplest.
• Is self-driven, communicative, and enjoys collaborative teamwork in an agile setting.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices (CI/CD, testing).
• Experience working in agile teams (Scrum, Kanban).
